Sockeyemania lures large numbers of anglers

Steelheader News
BC Canada
The
Fraser river sports sockeye fishery opened with tidal waves of
anglers.
Tackle Shops, gas stations, grocery stores and off-spin businesses, close
to the action, experienced a sudden swell in business with the August
02/02 Fraser opening for sockeye salmon sportfishing. People from as far away as Alberta frequented the Fraser river gravel
bars with impressive results. Although the sockeye seemed to arrive in
legions pacing their way up the edges of the river, sportfishers -
young, old, pro, and just for fun folk enjoyed the exciting opportunity.
It never fails even in this quaint little area – when the Fraser Bars
open fun-lovin' fishoholics can’t seem to get enough . . .
